It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our dear friend and long-time ATDO member, Diane Kalousek. Diane passed away at Central DuPage Hospital on April 17, 2023. Our deepest sympathies go to her dear husband, Craig Huffman; her daughter, Jenny; her beloved grandson, Logan, and her entire family.
It would be difficult to find anyone more dedicated to the democratic cause. She served the Addison Township Democrats for many years and can be credited with recruiting more Precinct Committee Persons than probably anyone in the history of ATDO. |
Diane had a magical way about her that made it hard to say no to her. During election cycles, Diane would often work all through the night to get mailing lists and labels printed, campaign bags stuffed, and the commitment of new PC’s — you name it, she did it.
Diane’s house was “campaign central” for all Addison Democratic Candidates. It was usual for her to open up her home to large groups of people to fold flyers, address envelopes, and stuff campaign bags. There were times when her entire first floor was filled almost to the ceiling with campaign materials! Diane’s contributions to DuPage County Democratic causes and the people who knew her will be remembered forever.
What we cherish most about Diane were her caring ways and her unflagging sense of humor. Diane was a great friend and a true champion to everyone at ATDO. We already miss her deeply.
