Every year, on the second Tuesday of April, all Illinois townships conduct an Annual Township Meeting. All electors (i.e., registered voters) in the township are encouraged to attend this meeting to have a direct voice in electing a moderator and determine how Addison Township operates.
Specific issues are addressed and each elector has an equal vote. All elector votes are cast; the votes are tallied; the majority wins. This is truly the last form of regularly mandated democracy in our country.
Please consider attending this year as a chance to actively participate in our democracy
ATDO board member Mike Johnson will be speaking about the 708 Mental Health Board Referendum. Also to be raised is the issue of the sale of the White Pines Golf Course—with the possibility of a motion for a vote of disapproval.
As always, the goal is not to disrupt, but participate in the process.
The meeting starts 7:00pm at the Addison Township Office, 401 N Addison Rd, Addison, Il
