New Referendum on DuPage’s Open Spaces

If approved by the voters, referendum funds will be used to:

  • Preserve approx. 250 acres of at-risk land in DuPage County
  • Protect watersheds to improve the water quality of rivers, lakes and streams
  • Purchase land to protect drinking water sources
  • Improve air quality by planting trees
  • Preserve and restore wildlife habitat
  • Improve flood control
  • Improve public safety
  • Provide nature education for children

All of this for merely an additional $3-3.50 a month for the average homeowner ($11.67 per year per $100,000 of home market value).

The Forest Preserve District always has been and remains a great investment. And the DuPage Forest Preserve District will continue to be fully transparent with full public disclosures of how the funds are spent.
